The GOS Mary Clubwala Jadhav Girls Higher Secondary School was started with the aim to provide education and promote all-round development of underprivileged girls. Supporting both English and Tamil mediums, the school educates girls from the neighbouring areas and the residents of Seva Samajam Girls Home. It has classes from Grade 1 to 12.

The school is committed to create an environment which helps the young minds to blossom and provides a platform for individual thinking and holistic development of each child’s personality with the help of qualified, dedicated and inspiring teachers. They are given ample opportunities to pursue diverse interests apart from academics. Continuous exposure is given to the girls by organising field trips, camps and inter-school competitions. The children learn with a motto – ‘Learn and Serve.’

Nutritious mid-day meals are provided to the children. The School additionally provides delicious breakfast for 150 children to eliminate classroom hunger. The school regularly organises field trips, educational tours and organises Science fairs to offer experiential learning to the students. The school has put in place the following innovative ways of teaching to make learning, interesting and fun:

Academic facilities

  • Karka Maths Lab – The Math lab is aimed at enhancing the mathematical skills of Middle school students. The Karka Math Lab enables an online learning model and exploration of mathematical concepts which encourages self-learning
  • Karka Primary Lab –This Language Development Lab for Primary classes helps in developing listening, speaking, reading & writing (LSRW). The students of Grades 1 to 5 are provided with tablets and computers. They learn through videos, powerpoint presentations, learning cards, practice cards and worksheets.
  • Smart Board Technology in the classroom - Smart Boards project visual elements of the curriculum and provide students with an enriched learning experience
  • Projectors: All the classrooms are equipped with projectors to give a visual learning experience to the students and make the learning a joyful experience.
  • Robotics Class: Started in 2019, the students learn the basics of robotics and design acrylic motor cars using battery, caster wheels, sensors and acrylic brackets. The same was presented at the International Robotic Science Fair conducted by Qualcomm Pvt Ltd.
  • STEM Class : STEM training classes were conducted for students of Grades 6 to 9. They provided hands-on training with their kits.
  • Math Carnival: Math Carnival is an innovative idea introduced for (the) primary classes to replace the fear of Mathematics with fun. The Math Carnival activities help the children to explore and develop an interest in Mathematics.

  • Sports - Special coaching is conducted for students in specific sports. This has helped the students win medals at State, District and Zonal level competitions.

  • Students’ Cabinet - The School has a Youth Parliament to develop (the) leadership qualities and skills for the future citizens of the country. Ministers are chosen every year for each ministry to carry out the activities of the school. The different ministries are Educational Ministry, Cultural Ministry, Sports Ministry, School Environmental Ministry, Health Ministry, Social Welfare Ministry, Food and Security Ministry and Entrepreneurial Ministry.

Counselling and Guidance

Group and individual counselling is conducted on a regular basis for students as well as some parents by qualified counsellors.

Jana Priya A. always aspired to join the medical field from her childhood. She completed her XII in GOS Mary Clubwala Jadhav GHSS in 2016. Her dreams came true in 2021, when she received her Bachelor's degree of Physiotherapy from Dr.MGR Educational Research Institute, Chennai. She is now a practising Physiotherapist and is living her dream.

 

Divya K, is known as the ‘centum girl’ of GOS Mary Clubwala GHSS as she scored multiple centums in both SSLC AND HSC Examinations. She was the HSC school topper in 2016.

Hailing from an economically weak background, Divya had to face many challenges to pursue her graduation which she followed up with an MBA. Today she is working as a Financial Associate with a good company.

 

Sajitha I, was a calm and determined student. After completing her HSC she went on to pursue B.Com and followed it up with an M.Com.

She fulfilled her ambition to become a teacher and joined her alma mater, GOS Mary Clubwala GHSS as a Post Graduate Teacher. Her Motto in life is to "Learn and Serve". She wants to help educate other girls like her and is committed to serve for the upliftment of the school.
